TMTM

TMTM (Tetramethylthiuram Monosulfide) is a thiuram-based ultra accelerator used in the vulcanization of natural rubber and synthetic elastomers. It provides fast curing performance, excellent processing efficiency, and improved crosslink formation in sulfur vulcanization systems. TMTM is frequently used as a primary or secondary accelerator, particularly where rapid cure rates and enhanced vulcanization efficiency are required. TMTM is widely used in the manufacture of tires, hoses, conveyor belts, seals, gaskets, cable compounds, footwear, and other technical rubber products. It performs especially well in combination with thiazole and sulfenamide accelerators, helping to optimize cure characteristics, improve productivity, and achieve consistent physical properties in finished rubber compounds. The product is typically supplied as a yellow powder or granules and exhibits excellent compatibility with natural rubber, nitrile rubber, butyl rubber, and many other elastomers. TMTM contributes to improved tensile strength, elasticity, heat resistance, and aging performance while maintaining efficient processing characteristics. Due to its fast curing action and versatility, TMTM remains an important accelerator in modern rubber formulations where efficient vulcanization, reliable processing, and high-quality end-product performance are essential.
